A & J | Engagement Session

This session happened after a mind blowing "small world" moment. Let me go back to December 2016 when I was a senior in college. I applied for a study abroad program in London and made instant friends with Jaida. She was my saving grace, I think I otherwise would've hated the whole trip without her.

A few years went by when a friend of ours noticed my photography growing and asked if I would be able to help take photos of his brother and his brother's fiance. I asked for their names and when he said "Jaida" I thought... what are the odds! Years had passed since I last heard from Jaida, but my world shrunk in the best way possible when the connection was made. I had no idea my friend's brother was dating Jaida none the less that they happen to be now be engaged!

I was SO HAPPY to be asked to do their engagement session! This couple also is very sweet and full of goofy shenanigans. They were looking for their engagement photos to be something that was silly and fully representative of their personalities! They are camera shy and were certainly not going to act differently or "pose" a certain way just for a photo. They also didn't want to kiss on camera and I have a lot of respect for my couples who are firm in their convictions like that. The challenge to create intimate, sweet engagement photos with no kissing is nothing but an opportunity to get creative and is no problem for me! You can still see the intense love these two have for each other in the way they look at the other. Love is all through their eyes, smiles, and hands. I am here to capture your own relationship and personalities and even though I bring my own creative vision to each session -- your engagement photos are not about me and how I think you should look in them. So here is to Anthony and Jaida for being unapologetically themselves -- congratulations on finding the one whom your soul loves!
