Drew & Lexi | Date Night Session

I know its a tired saying for photographers to rave about how fun or how cute their couples are. Its like when you go to a concert and the performers tell you that you're the loudest audience they've ever had and you think "they probably say this at every show." So I know what you're already thinking but you have to believe me when I say Drew & Lexi are in the top 3 most FUN couples I've ever worked with! They showed up, brought the party, and were there to have a good time. I was all for it! Any pose or idea I suggested they took it and totally ran with it making it even bigger or better. A little secret when doing a session is that the photographer *wants* the pose to fall apart. Like, when I told them to make funny faces and they decided to grabbed some long grass to stick in their teeth to make it even funnier. Or when I said to Drew to tickle Lexi and what starts as him tickling her turns into him just grabbing her and throwing her over his shoulder. These are the moments I want... when you are unapologetically and completely yourself together and I can quietly observe and photograph the moments of wild fun or sweet tenderness.

The cornfield idea was also all Drew. That was his one request. I LOVE when couples come with their own ideas, I've said it before! I mean, just look at the fun it creates and the way their personalities shine through. The guy is usually the hardest one to get to relax or (God forbid) even have *fun* with having his picture taken. My favorite thing about this session was how excited both Drew and Lexi to be there and how they made this into a date night.
